Affiliate Disclosure
In compliance with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement, this page explains how Built PC is funded.
“As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.”
What Are Affiliate Links?
Throughout our website—particularly on product review cards, comparison matrices, and PC build component lists—you will see links to purchase hardware on Amazon.co.uk.
These links contain an identifier (tag=builtpc-21) that informs Amazon that you discovered the product via Built PC. If you choose to complete a purchase, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale (typically 1.5% to 3% on consumer electronics) as a referral commission.
Does This Affect the Price You Pay?
No, absolutely not. You pay the exact same price on Amazon UK whether you click through our affiliate link or navigate directly to Amazon. Amazon absorbs referral fees from their standard operating margin; the cost is never passed on to the customer.
Our Linking Ethics & Commitments
- Clear Identification: Outbound affiliate links are clearly distinguished by button styling, Amazon destination labels, and standard
rel="nofollow sponsored noopener"attributes. - No Automatic Redirects: We never disguise links, cloak affiliate parameters, or force automated redirects.
- Editorial Separation: Our hardware editors are not incentivised by commission rates. If a product is flawed, poorly built, or represents poor value, we say so plainly regardless of potential earnings.
- Unverified Prices: When real-time price validation is unavailable, we explicitly display “Check Price on Amazon” rather than fabricating or assuming a price.
